Goodbye, sticky lids on paint cans! If you know the trick to span the opening, the edge stays clean and the can is easy to open and close again at any time.

Keeping the rim clean

Finding the creative middle ground
Simple and practical: To keep can rims clean and ensure that a can of paint is easy to open even after it has been closed for a long time, tape a sturdy strip of tesa® Painter’s Masking Tape Window over the opening of the can, stick it firmly in place, and wipe your paintbrush against it to remove excess paint.

Just unroll…
Center the tesa® Painter’s Masking Tape above the can, with one end above the rim. Peel off an extra 1 to 2 cm (half to one inch) and press in place over the edge of the can, then unroll a strip of tape over the opening and affix it firmly on the other side in the same way.

Tip:
Closed cans of paint should always be stored upside down.
